Experience a collection that spans decades, including gowns worn by Peoria Historical Society and Pettengill-Morron House volunteers. It will feature wedding photos of Cynthia Stone and Hollywood actor Jack Lemmon, who were married in the parlor. Cynthia's father was John Boyd Stone. The family occupied this home from 1945 to 1953. The photos were taken by respected photographer, Eugene Voss. His daughter, Marilyn Voss Leyland, is a past President of the Peoria Historical Society.
Listed on the U.S National Register of Historic Places, this Second Empire-style house was built in 1868 for hardware merchant Moses Pettengill. Completely renovated in 1945, this historic home also showcases the treasures of the last owner, Jean Morron. It was donated to the Peoria Historical Society after her death in 1967, including her family collection of mid-18th century furnishings, artwork, artifacts and textiles, as well as earlier treasures belonging to the Pettengill family.
