An exhibit of vintage hats will run March through May at Peoria Historical Society's John C. Flanagan House Museum, 942 NE Glen Oak Ave.

“Bonnets & Bowlers” features hats popular during the 19th and 20th centuries. The hats will be displayed in every room of Flanagan House, built in 1837.

“Peorians stylishly topped their clothing ensembles with the latest in headwear since the city’s earliest days,” said exhibit co-organizer Trisha Noack. “Women wore stylish bonnets, like the ‘Merry Widow’ that swept the country in popularity around 1900. And the city’s whiskey barons and other leading citizens donned a variety of bowlers and top hats.”

Guided tours will be from 1 to 4 p.m. on the first and third Sundays of each month. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for college and high school students and $3 for ages 6 to12.
