In this 6-week class students will write, draw, and produce their own short comics. This is an online class that meets Live once per week over Zoom to create the comic from start to finish at home under the guidance of instructor Claire Hawkins.

Thursday, March 11, 2021- April 15, 2021

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

Registration Cost $60

Required Materials: computer/phone with mic and camera and access to Zoom, scanner that can take an 8.5x11 in piece of paper OR access to a copier, printer, printer ink, stapler, staples, a ream of copy paper. Pencil that can be erased easily. (Softer leads are better for this. Most regular pencils are HB, which has a softness right in the middle of the scale. That will be fine if that’s what you have access to, but I prefer working with 2B pencils.) A good eraser, copy paper or sketchbook, fine tip black pen, fine tip black Sharpie, thicker black marker. Scissors, gluestick. 

Optional Materials: Arm Phone Mount stand/desk tripod, bristol board, fineliner pens in variety of widths, ruler, white out, markers, gum eraser, tracing paper, painters tape, light box/table, ames lettering guide, dip pen with speedball C-6 nib, india ink, watercolors. 

All classes are subject to cancellation due to low enrollment. Students will be notified of class cancellation by 2 pm the day before class. Students can either retain a credit toward a future class or receive a full refund in 3-5 business days.
