Photography II: Post Processing Your Images with Lightroom Classic

Capturing an image with your camera is but the first step to creating amazing images. The second step is to post process those images in Lightroom Classic, from Adobe. For years, Lightroom has been the standard “go to” application by professional photographers the world over when they want to take a good image and make an amazing final print. 

The Peoria Art Guild is now offering the only in-person Lightroom course in the greater Peoria area. This 5 week course will take you from creating catalogs and importing your images, through every part of powerful Develop module including Presets, the change History, creating Collections, Before and After views, to learning how to correct Exposure, how to effectively Crop and Straighten your images, enhance and reduce Contrast globally and locally, set White Balance, apply color adjustments, Burning and Dodging digitally, cleaning up your image by removing spots, and more. We will also show you how to create slide shows, HDR images, Panoramic images, export your final images, and discuss the importance of capturing and using Raw files for post processing. You will also learn how to interface your camera with Lightroom using the Tethering function.

Materials Required: Students must bring your own laptop- PC or Mac, images on a thumb drive to download, your own Adobe Creative Cloud account

***This course will be based on Adobe Lightroom Classic (LrC). LrC is available with the Adobe Photography Plan. Contact PAG if you are having difficulty locating the Photography Plan. Learning LrC first will help you navigate Lr Creative Cloud apps for tablets and cell phones. PAG does have WiFi available for connecting to the Adobe Creative Cloud.***



All public parking in Downtown Peoria is limited to 2 hour parking Monday- Friday 8 am - 5 pm. You may park along the streets in metered spots, or park in various public lots for free for 2 hours. Please see a map here of available public parking lots.

Parking is free anywhere after 5 pm Monday- Friday, or anytime on the weekends.
