Print Room Orientation
Instructor: Peggy West
Calling all Printmakers! Our new Letterpress and Relief Print Room is ready for action, but before we let the creative juices flow, we are asking each maker/artist to take this two-hour orientation before registering for any of our Open Studios or scheduling a work time. Whether you are an experienced pro, or brand new to letterpress/relief printing, this orientation will give you the tips, tools, and rules you will need to effectively use the space and its unique set of tools/equipment.
In this orientation, you will get hands-on demonstrations for setting type, locking up a chase, inking and preparing to print on a Kelsey hand press, and the essentials of cleaning the press and "leaving no trace" at the conclusion of your print session. Peggy West, printmaker in residence, will guide the session which will also address "house rules" and opportunities for classes, Open Studios, and work days.
