During the tours, patrons will be guided on a short walk through a section of Springdale Cemetery to visit five different Peorians from the past. This year’s characters will include

 Rolan Johnson 1916-2000- World renowned artist who created one of a kind Christmas cards and ornaments; even has pieces on display at the Smithsonian.

Arthur Storts-1918-2004- Survivor of the Bataan Death March and recipient of the Purple Heart who was a well loved janitor at Kelly Elementary.

Adrian Hinton Jr 1940-1995- Leader in the education system of Peoria during the civil rights movement and beyond.

Theo Kenyon-1922-2021- A career writer for the Peoria Journal star, a fierce advocate for unionization and historical preservation in Peoria.

Ellen Gaiusha Smith – 1849-1922- A famous painter and writer, friend of Walt Whitman, and a dedicated member of the Peoria theater community.

As always, tours will be held the first two weekends in October. Saturday and Sunday tours Oct 1st and 2nd and 8th-9th will be held at 3:00pm and 5:00pm. Special twilight tour on Friday Oct 7th at 5:30pm. Tickets are $15.00 for adults and $5.00 for children 3-13 (children under 3 free!). If you want to bring the whole family (2 adults and 2 children) our family rate of $35.00 is the way to go!
