The Pediatric Resource Center (PRC) is a community service program of the University of Illinois College of Medicine at Peoria.
Since 1993, the Pediatric Resource Center has been the only program in the region providing complete head-to-toe examinations in a child-friendly manner by specially trained and certified medical staff to suspected child victims of abuse and neglect. The program also integrates medical advocacy into the child protection and criminal justice systems.
The PRC serves children ages newborn to 18 years from over 50 counties in central Illinois. Services include medical exams, medical consults, crisis counseling, information and referrals, education and training, and prevention and advocacy.
The Pediatric Resource Center serves over 750 new children each year. We are affiliated with the Children’s Hospital of Illinois at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center and are located on the hospital’s campus.
